This devotional begins with the one who will bring the children. Remember when Jesus was healing, and children came to be blessed of Him, and the disciples wanted to send them away? Isn't it just like us at times to move them 'out of the way' for grown-up matters? 2020 started a slew of new grown-up issues and we may have been tempted to keep them out of the way while we grappled for answers. But remember, Jesus told the disciples to let them come, then he sat them on His lap. Someone had brought them. Some parent made the trip to bring their chidren to the Lord. Jesus blessed them, after someone brought them. So first, recognize the time, and bring yourself and all that you have or lack, but you come first. Then after you've found yourself in the presence and blessing of God, bring your children. YOU bring them so that the Lord can bless them.

This devotional was prayerfully written with you and family in mind.  It shares your desire to see them blessed.  But, the first week's devotion is for you, parents, alone. It's your private seeking and worship that will prepare you to bring your children. Then, there are 17 prayerfully written topics, each spanning 21 days before moving to the next, so that you can:

  • Establish the application of God's Word
  • Begin or renew a sense of relevance for time with God
  • Break the distractions that have kept you out of that space
  • Increase your faith in His response to your prayers
  • Learn how to sit with Him in worship that fills the room
  • Share grounding faith with your children
  • Have a tradition of faith-led family discussions
  • Know that God is good all of the time and help your children approach life with the same understanding
